The Sopwith Camel, the plane that won the war.
The beginning of aeronautical engineering started when Wilbur and Orville Wright flew for 30 second in Kitty Hawk,North Carolina. Then, in WWI, the Sopwith Company manufactured the Sopwith Camel, which is known as the plane that won the war.
During the inter-war years , and the Great Depression, aerospace engineering groung to halt, but when World War II broke out, Hitler enleashed Blitzkreig,a type of warfare, which coordinated the forces of the German Lutwaffe(Air force), and Wehrmacht, or Army. Finally,in the battle of Britain, when the Luftwaffe invadede England, the German aerospace advantage ran out.The Brotsh Supermarine Spitfire, made easy picking of the Luftwaffe, and Hitler aborted the invasion.
Once, in 1945, when World War II ended, the Soviets, angry when in 1941, the Germans literally, made their country go up in flames, they blockaded Berlin, and had it not been for the engineers at Boeing, British, and American planes dropped supplies on the besieged Berlin. This was called The Berlin Airlift.
Once again, when the U.S. entered Vietnam, designers at Lockheed Martin, Boeing, etc., rustled out new planes, to help support America's military adventure in Vietnam.
Finally, in 1980, when Northrop Grumman put out the B-2 Spirit stealth aiplane, aeronautical engineering reached its peak, as well as the present.
